COURSE DESCRIPTION

In this course, students will learn about how to create a space and the character that will inhabit it simultaneously. Students will create a mixed media completed piece including a structure and a character living in or around it. We will be focusing on the relationship between the two, the story telling techniques and how to start thinking of sculpture as a medium of narration. The students will learn and understand Symbolism connected to the decisions of materials, while practicing both conscious and unconscious sculpting techniques.
